GES, an NSP Group Company further extends its Global Footprint to UK by Powering Rooftop Solar Systems worth NT$1 Billion to 4,500 Homes

Neo Solar Power Corporation (3576 TT) (“NSP”, or “the Company”), a world-class leading producer of high quality solar cells, announced that its subsidiary, General Energy Solutions Inc. (“GES”) successfully further extends its global footprint to UK rooftop solar system projects. The project is believed to be the biggest for a housing community in the UK. The total project size is 14MW, spread out on the rooftops of 4,500 homes in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Among them, 1,000 homes with total capacity of 3.1MW have been completed and COD on October 15th. The rest are expected to be completed by January next year. In addition, GES will donate a rooftop solar system to a furniture recycling charity in this community. Dawson Lane, Mayor of Greater Manchester, Tameside City and Mayoress, Councillor Jacqueline Lane JP will both attend the donation ceremony on October 15th to give thanks to GES’s contribution for the community and support of clean energy.

This deal is also the first solar financial deal of its type and the biggest for a housing community in the UK. Total investment is around US$ 32 million. Furthermore, after completing 12.5MW of the US Indianapolis Airport phase I solar system project, phase II of an additional 12.5MW is currently under construction by GES. Total size of 25MW after completion will believe to be the world’s largest Airport solar power system. GES once again demonstrates its capability of integrating resources from both upper and downstream supply chain and shows its strength of penetrating global markets. “The financing of this UK rooftop solar power projects was completely arranged by a local global financial institution. It’s an important milestone in globalization for both GES’s solar system business and funding.” said Dr. Quincy Lin, Chairman of NSP and GES.

More than 56,000 pieces of GES’s solar modules have been used for this rooftop solar project, and it will generate electricity for more than 12 million kWh every year and save more than five million kilogram of carbon emission each year. Additionally, GES module has passed third-party quality certificates in many countries, which can assure long-term power generation benefit and stability. ”GES is always looking for renewable solutions with mutual benefit and environment sustainability to each other.” Said Dr. Quincy Lin, Chairman of NSP and GES. As a renewable energy system integrator with total solutions, GES will continue to enhance global footprint, branding, and localization step-by-step. The main focus areas for GES will be Taiwan, the United States, UK and Japan. GES will then copy the successful business models to other markets, and promote GES as a global solar system integrator.
