After the three-in-one merger, URECO underwent a complete transformation, cultivating new business segments centered on energy storage system products and hydrogen-powered motorcycles. The solar division now operates with a business model focused on module branding and system integration. In alignment with Taiwan’s energy policy, URE is committed to strengthening the local green energy industry, enabling it to take root and grow in Taiwan while driving the development of related sectors, including materials, electromechanical equipment, and service industries.

History and Milestones

2018

October – United Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. was established with NSP (Neo Solar Power) as the surviving entity. NSP Chairman Hung Chuan-Hsien assumed the role of Chairman, while Gintech General Manager Pan Wen-Hui became the CEO. The merger was officially completed on October 1, 2018.

2017

October – In alignment with Taiwan’s national energy policy, a new win–win operational model was established as NSP, Gintech, and SolarTech completed their merger to form United Renewable Energy Co., Ltd.

August – Successfully completed the development of a 225 MW solar power plant in the United States, with a total investment of USD 435 million, marking a new milestone for Taiwan’s solar industry.

April – Received the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ VPC certification for high-efficiency mono- and multi-crystalline modules.

February – Taiwan’s first rooftop solar power plant using P-type bifacial double-glass modules was officially commissioned at the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Regional Branch of the Workforce Development Agency.

2016

April – URE’s cell and module products once again received the Energy Bureau’s Golden Energy Award, marking the fourth consecutive year of recognition. The awarded module was also the only product exceeding 300 Wp among that year’s winners.

March – URE’s 275 W high-efficiency module obtained the Energy Bureau’s certification for auction-exempt products.

2015
