Solar Power Leaders Form Strategic Alliance! United Renewable Energy (URE) and Minmax Green Energy Sign MOU to Integrate Manufacturing and Development Strengths, Expanding Renewable Energy Deployment in Taiwan and Southeast Asia

Looking toward the renewable energy opportunities across ASEAN, Taiwan’s leading solar company United Renewable Energy (3576, “URE”) announced today (3rd) that it has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Minmax Green Energy, a subsidiary of Minmax Technology (2429, “Minmax Tech”) focused on renewable energy development. The collaboration combines both parties’ strengths in module manufacturing, solar project development, EPC services, O&M, and system integration. Together, they will expand solar power business in Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, with an estimated initial cooperation volume of 80 MW. This milestone follows URE Thailand’s transformation earlier this year into a Southeast Asia value-added service center, marking another important step in partnering with Taiwan’s supply chain to grow internationally and increase overall value.

Taiwan’s Solar Supply Chain Joins Forces to Strengthen Global Competitiveness

URE Chairman Charles Hung stated: “URE continues to actively deepen its international presence and has cultivated solid operations in Thailand for many years. This year, we further positioned our Thailand subsidiary as a value-added service center for the Southeast Asian market. Therefore, we are pleased to collaborate with Minmax Green Energy, a company with strong forward-looking market insights. We believe URE’s vertically integrated solar value chain, combined with Minmax Green Energy’s strategic market deployment, will allow us to navigate market challenges together and provide superior solar energy solutions for customers across the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership is also a key realization of URE’s ‘Total Solution’ vision.”

Minmax Green Energy Chairman Chou Wei-Kun added: “Minmax Green Energy’s recent development in Southeast Asia’s renewable energy market has gained significant attention. During this rapid expansion, it is even more crucial to collaborate with strong partners like URE, who possess extensive industry experience and a comprehensive solar value-chain layout. Our initial cooperation begins with an 80 MW capacity, and we will jointly explore additional opportunities throughout the Asia-Pacific region. This collaboration is not only a business synergy but also a fusion of technological innovation and market expertise, enabling us to build a competitive green energy ecosystem and further elevate Taiwan’s presence in the global energy transition.”

Seizing Southeast Asia’s Energy Transition Opportunities Through Strategic Alliance

Southeast Asia is experiencing rapid industrialization and an accelerated shift toward renewable energy. As energy demand continues to rise, the region also faces international pressure to achieve net-zero emissions, driving strong demand for clean energy and energy storage systems. Thailand plans to increase renewable energy capacity to 37% by 2030, while Vietnam aims to deploy 73 GW of solar power and 38 GW of wind energy by 2030, pushing renewable energy penetration above 30%. At this pivotal moment, the strategic alliance between URE and Minmax Green Energy directly responds to regional energy transition trends. Beyond the initial cooperation projects, both companies will continue to cultivate the Southeast Asian market—targeting industrial growth zones and emerging storage opportunities—to steadily expand their collaboration footprint.
