Minister Administrative of the Presidency of Dominican Republic Visits Leading Taiwan solar company, NSP and GES

Neo Solar Power Corporation (3576 TT) (“NSP”, or “the Company”) and its subsidiary, General Energy Solutions Inc. (6466 ) (“GES”) host the visiting group from President Office of Dominican Republic.

The visiting group was led by José Ramón Peralta, Minister Administrative of the Presidency of Dominican Republic. Minister Peralta was once a successful agricultural entrepreneur, and was recruited by President Danilo Medina Sánchez in 2012. Other members of the visiting group include Secretary of State and Executive Director of the Investment and Export Center, Executive Director of National Free Zones Council, and other leading industry representatives of Dominican Republic. Rafaela Alburquerque, the Dominican Republic Ambassador to Taiwan and Li-Fang, Huang, Senior First Secretary of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs from Ministry of Taiwan Foreign Affairs also accompany with the group. NSP Chairman, Quincy Lin, CEO, Sam Hong, President, Andy Shen, and GES CEO, David Su, are all together to host the guests.

The visit was mainly due to GES’s exceptional solar system business development in Latin America. GES is about to complete a solar system project in Dominican Republic. The total installed capacity of this project will be 67MW, and the total investment amount will be close to US$120 million. After completing the project, it will become the biggest photovoltaic system both in Dominican Republic and Central Caribbean areas. This project is also the largest single investment in Dominican Republic from Taiwanese companies, and therefore received attention from Ministry of Taiwan Foreign Affairs and Dominican Republic government. Topics regarding investment environment in Dominican Republic, global photovoltaic market trends and company business operation were discussed and exchanged during the meeting.
